Europe. So close, yet so far away. Quebec City is often called the most European City in all of North America. I think it was only proper that I spent my time there with 3 university students from Slovakia.
Quebec City stands alone as the only walled city still in existence in Canada. A lot of people mistakenly say it is the only walled city in North America. However there’s at least one in Mexico and the US. Campeche and US St Augustine, FL come to mind
Narrow, hilly streets with tall, French style buildings are enclosed behind a huge wall that was built in 1620. The entire old section within the walls is essentially a living museum and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This church, built in 1647, is the oldest Catholic church in Canada
